Vandergrift boy admits to throwing rock that smashed bus window

A 17-year-old Sherman Avenue youth told Vandergrift police on Thursday that he was the one who threw a rock that smashed a school bus window the day before on Columbia Avenue, authorities say.Police Chief Joe Caporali said the youth was accompanied by his mother during an interview. He is charged as a juvenile with simple assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and throwing a rock at the occupied bus.Six elementary-age students and a driver were on board the mini-bus.
