VANDERGRIFT -- A 29-year-old borough man is accused of stabbing his neighbor for allegedly having sex with his adult relative early Saturday.

According to a police report, Ryan J. McKendree of 212 Holmes St. told officers that he saw the two "and I went crazy."

Police said McKendree, his adult relative and the 41-year-old victim were drinking in the victim's house shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.

At some point, the relative and the victim went to another room and McKendree later walked in on them.

Police said McKendree stabbed the victim four times in the back and once in an arm.

According to a police report, the victim was found sitting on the front porch of a nearby house holding a bloodied towel to his back. He told police that McKendree "caught me with his (relative)."

The victim was treated by an ambulance crew and then flown to a Pittsburgh hospital where he was admitted to the critical care unit.

He was still hospitalized on Tuesday, but was upgraded to fair condition.

Police said McKendree was found on the porch of a nearby house. Police say he had a black-handled, folding knife in his pants pocket that they say he used in the attack.

When questioned the night of the stabbing, police said the relative had been drinking, was uncooperative and said they couldn't remember what happened.

McKendree is charged with aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He posted $5,000 bond and was released pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for next week.
